Kristina's Custom Cosmetic Organizers

The price of your organizer depends on the dimensions and style that you choose, because the dimensions affect the time investment and quantity of materials required to build the organizer, and the style determines whether or not we need to purchase specific materials for you.

The base cost of an organizer is $2.00 x √(the number of slots in the organizer). Here are a few examples demonstrating what that looks like:

• A 6 x 6 square organizer (36 slots total) is $2.00 x √36 = $2.00 x 6 = $12.00
• A 12 x 12 square organizer (144 slots total) is $2.00 x √144 = $2.00 x 12 = $24.00
• A 6 x 10 rectangular organizer (60 slots total) is $2.00 x √60 = $2.00 x 7.75 = $15.49

The base pricing system described above assumes an eco-friendly organizer made from 100% recycled materials. If you wish to order an organizer in a specific color or colors, the added cost is $1.00 per sheet of posterboard required to make your organizer + an additional $1.00 fee. The sheets of posterboard are large, so this ends up being the same as $1.00 per color requested, except in the case of very large organizers.

Please bear in mind that this is not intended to be excessive; the sheets of posterboard do cost $1.00 each, so we are only passing the materials cost on, nothing more. The additional $1.00 fee mentioned is essentially an "environment fee" - we want to encourage our customers to choose recycled materials over posterboard. If that bothers you, consider it the cost of the time it takes for one of us to walk to the drugstore to buy the posterboard! :)

The base pricing system described above also assumes that the organizer does not come with a holder, which you can think of as a shoebox lid-type of piece made to fit your organizer.

In the case of organizers that are custom-made to fit in some kind of pre-existing case, drawer, box, etc., a holder would probably be unnecessary.

We advise all other customers to purchase a holder, particularly if the organizer may be kept on a countertop or other flat, open surface. This holder will enable you to pick up your organizer and move it around without having the products fall out the bottom! As with shoebox lids, the holder is detachable from the organizer, so you can always remove it later if you wish.

Our organizers are made with interlocking pieces and fold flat, so we are generally able to ship them as pictured on the right. We have made a picture tutorial demonstrating how to set the organizer up once it has arrived in the mail, but we assure you that the steps are relatively self-evident; apparently no one's actually needed to use the tutorial yet. :)

For most organizers, shipping will be approximately $2.00 domestically and $4.00 internationally for USPS First-Class Mail, or approximately $5.00 for USPS domestic Priority Mail. For any other mailing services, please ask us for a quote.

Organizers that are exceptionally long across any single dimension may require special packaging and/or shipping methods and therefore may cost more to ship, but this is a very rare occurrence.

Lastly, we realize that the total cost of our organizers may seem a bit high for cardboard/posterboard to our potential customers, so we'd like to briefly explain why we charge the amount that we do. These organizers do take a while to make, and when you think about it in comparison to commercially sold cosmetic organizers, here's why we feel that you're still getting a good deal: you'd need eight of the 18-slot $10.00 acrylic organizers from Ulta (to name one example) to hold 144 lipsticks, which would cost $52.00 more than a 144-slot organizer from us, including the cost of a holder and domestic shipping... and those aren't recycled, recylable, customizeable, or (presumably) made with the same amount of love and care. ;-)
